As 2015 rolls to a close, we have plenty of DC related goodness to look forward to. Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad are rumbling ever closer. Beyond that, the Justice League movie will be DC’s first major test of how well they tie together their cinematic universe. The massive interference Joss Whedon had to put up with in Age of Ultron stands as a warning that DC would do well to pay attention to. But before that, cinematic history will be made in a different way. On June 23rd, 2017, Wonder Woman will finally get her own movie.
Gal Godot’s Wonder Woman pulls at least one key element from her modern New 52 incarnation. Rather than being born from magical clay, she is the demigod daughter of Zeus and the queen of the Amazons. This has brought about some of the most exciting story arcs in Wonder Woman’s publication history, so this is something to look forward to.
And now we have some actual information on Wonder Woman’s first solo outing. Namely, the first official photo and a cast list;

And as for Gadot’s supporting cast;
‘Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (the Harry Potter films), Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting), Saïd Taghmaoui (G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In, Van Helsing) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead, UK’s The Office).’
Beyond this, we only have rumours, but the fact that Steve Trevor is a character in it suggests that they’re drawing on Wonder Woman’s golden and silver age material as well. Some of the rumours suggest that the film is split between different time periods. If true, then Wonder Woman has been in ‘Man’s world’ since long before the events of Man of Steel.
