American pop rock band Imagine Dragons has released a new single for Starfield as the game’s promotional campaign continues to heat up ahead of its official release next week. The single “Children of the Sky (a Starfield song)” perfectly encaptures the grandiose sense of adventure in Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi epic and will make you want to take the stars.

Imagine Dragons Release Starfield Single “Children of the Sky”

Imagine Dragons promoted the new single for Starfield today on the band’s official X account and shared the members’ love for Bethesda games writing:

“We’ve been playing Bethesda Studios games for most of our lives, so we’re honored to have collaborated on this song.”

The music video for “Children of the Sky” doesn’t necessarily reveal anything new about Starfield‘s story, instead, it focuses on the strange and beautiful new worlds that players can explore in the game. A lyric video has also been released by the band for those who want to take a deep dive into the single and how it connects to the game’s narrative.

The single incorporates and takes cues from the game’s stunning original score composed by Inon Zur. Imagine Dragons Frontman Dan Reynolds belts out lyrics like his life absolutely depends on it all while being backed by a full orchestra. The end result is a stadium rock anthem that matches the unprecedented scale and sense of accomplishment embodied by Starfield.

This isn’t the first time that Imagine Dragons has produced original music for a video game property. Their acclaimed collaboration with JID “Enemy” was written for the League of Legends TV series Arcane and went on to find its way into the top 5 in the US.

Anticipation for Starfield is currently at a fever pitch with the game set to enter its early access period in just under 24 hours. The new single is almost guaranteed to be played on repeat across the world as players prepare to take their first steps into the cosmos in what could be a generation-defining experience.
