The upcoming Metroidvania game Imp of the Sun had a big announcement today. Following yesterday’s announcement of a Nintendo Switch release date, developer Sunwolf Entertainment and publisher Fireshine Games have revealed that Imp of the Sun will also launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

🌞 BIG NEWS! 🔥

We're super excited to tell you that Imp of the Sun is coming to Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, & PlayStation on 24th March!

Imp of the Sun brings fiery, action-platforming gameplay to PlayStation and Xbox

Imp of the Sun stars the titular imp, called Nin. As today’s announcement explains, Nin is on a mission to rescue the Sun from an eclipse. Therefore, the player must explore various environments and fight enemies using Nin’s unique powers:

“Follow Nin on his adventure to end the eternal eclipse and explore a beautifully hand crafted world inspired by Peruvian culture! Explore multiple areas, from the bright peaks of the Andean mountains to the dense Amazonian jungles and much more! Level up skills, gain new abilities and unlock extra combos to find a playstyle that best fits you as you fight memorable bosses along your journey!”

Imp of the Sun is a Metroidvania game designed with replay value in mind. According to Fireshine Games’ website:

“Imp of the Sun is built to be played again and again and again as you learn to control better the imp and understand its power. There are different play modes and you can set record times to compete against other players.”

Imp of the Sun also features 21 hidden collectibles based on Andean relics. This may add more replay value for players who are committed to finding everything. Players looking for a more intense challenge can try out Eclipse Mode. This mode lives up to its name because the world is now completely dark.

If you’re looking forward to playing this game, then you don’t have long to wait. Imp of the Sun is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 24, 2022.
