A Wisconsin woman allegedly entered a Kwik Trip while leaving the gas pump, causing gasoline to spill from her car. This wasn’t a simple leak either; the liquid was pouring out, splashing all over the vehicle and forming a large puddle underneath. A nearby driver was shocked by the scene and shared it on Reddit, where many were baffled by how anyone could be so irresponsible.
“Imagine this ignited while there was a child or anyone in the vehicles next to them,” remarked Reddit user pwwtflabtech, who posted the unattended gas pump leaking on r/KwikTrip. Multiple Kwik Trip employees eventually noticed, came out, and tried to handle the gasoline spill, according to pwwtflabtech. Plenty of people criticized the woman for not being more patient and waiting for her tank to fill up before going inside.
“When people are held accountable, stuff like this will end,” sighed a commenter. “It’s illegal to leave the pump unattended,” pointed out another.“Yet, so many people still do. We have rules for idiots like this.” Considering how gas prices have shot up as of late, one person couldn’t believe what a waste this scene was: “In this economy?”
The Woman Allegedly Drove Off Without Taking Responsibility
User pwwtflabtech shared some more details about what happened after the woman finally came out to her car. She saw all the gas on the ground and looked at the workers trying to keep the puddle from spreading. But instead of doing anything, she allegedly “then just hopped in her car and drove off.” One of the employees tried to call her back, but she didn’t stop.
Several people tried to shame OP for not going out of their way to help instead of just filming the unattended gas pump. They replied that, since they were sitting across the road and the employees were already on the job, they didn’t want to rush in and risk their own safety.
