Influencer Rages Over a Kentucky Republican Petitioning the Supreme Court to Overturn Same-Sex Marriage: ‘We’ve Moved Back at Least 60 Years’

This is not a good sign

The current administration has been quite busy issuing new executive orders and making cuts to essential programs. In addition to all the immigration issues, the government has another minority in its sights. A former Kentucky county clerk is fighting for the Supreme Court to overturn same-sex marriage after ten years. This could mean that members of the LGBTQ+ community would lose more opportunities and rights very soon.

TikTok user @spencewuah has a large community of video-sharing followers where he complains about various government actions. In his latest video, the influencer talked about several newspaper headlines, such as “Supreme Court Faces Decision on Case Urging Overturn of Same-Sex Marriage,” and how this movement began with a former Kentucky County Clerk. However, this former county clerk would be Kim Davis herself, who, during her tenure, did everything she could to prevent same-sex couples from getting married. Now, ten years later, Davis is back to finish what she started. That’s why @spencewuah called Davis “dangerous”. This is because she’s launching her campaign just as Clarence Thomas, an associate judge of the Supreme Court, spoke specifically about eliminating same-sex marriages.

However, as in any situation, there are always two sides. On one side are people who support Davis and her religious approach, saying that God will cleanse the world of sin. On the other side are people who don’t want to lose another constitutional right. For example, user Pop responded by saying: ‘We’ve moved back at least 60 years atp…‘. The USA used to be considered by many to be the land of freedom. However, several of its citizens no longer think so. For example, Noahtomo🚦, who shared the following: ‘This is actually scary because if they can take away our rights to marry, then what else could they take away from us‘.

As if that weren’t enough, @spencewuah doesn’t believe Kim Davis’ petition is an isolated case that nobody will hear. And with Clarence Thomas’ statements, the influencer thinks this is a giant, well-orchestrated plan to eliminate LGBTQ+ community rights gradually, state by state. But no one is saying that this control of individuals will be against only minorities. If the citizens allow this to continue, it could affect everyone at any time. Once this happens, there will be no turning back, and the country will be increasingly on the path to becoming a dystopian world more likely than those depicted in movies or TV shows.
