Citizens across the United States of America have lately been organizing and attending a variety of protests aimed at the behavior of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE. There have been countless stories of ICE injuring pedestrians and even kidnapping and deporting others. Unfortunately, they are also not above severely injuring people. An unarmed protestor during the No King’s protest in Downtown Los Angeles, California, just yesterday was reportedly shot in the face with a pepper ball by ICE agents. It’s being reported that the protester was left blinded by the attack.
The video above was originally posted on the Instagram page @ladivinaqueenb, which belongs to a woman named Bianca. The account also includes other footage from the No King’s Protest in Downtown Los Angeles. It was then reposted on Reddit, where it gained even more traction, highlighting exactly what was happening during the protest. According to the above, one man was severely injured after being shot in the eye with a pepper ball by ICE just outside the Metropolitan Detention Center.
Other videos were also posted that detail even more horrific actions, including a pregnant woman who was reportedly shot in the stomach with a rubber bullet. Fortunately, it appears that some medical professionals were in the field and were able to help both the blinded man and the pregnant woman.
It’s unclear exactly what the condition of the blinded man is right now, though an update provided on the Instagram account details that the pregnant woman and her baby are reportedly okay.

Commenters were quick to jump into the replies and give their opinion on the events that unfolded, with the very top comment saying, “It’s come to this, folks need to protect their eyes. It’s not worth losing an eye.” In response to this, a different commenter said, “There will be those who advise against eye/head protection for issues of being targetted by the Government as more aggressively inclined individuals. I am not one of those people. Gear up. They will shoot Pepper Balls regardless if you wear PPE or not.”
According to recent posts, Bianca left the protest unscathed but warns others about the dangers of attending one. It’s a good thing that there are people like her who are willing to document what happens at protests as a cautionary tale for others.
