Have you ever experienced somebody pinning the blame on you for something you didn’t do? You’re immediately on the defensive. One Kentucky lawyer kept her calm when she was pinned for another person’s crime. When Christine Miller’s vehicle was struck, and police found out she didn’t have the car registered, they immediately turned their attention to her. What followed was a chaotic mess that landed her in jail, where she witnessed some unspeakable horrors.
Christine Miller shared her video on TikTok, following her arrest early in November. It started when she was sitting at home watching TV and heard a commotion outside. She discovered a man had struck multiple vehicles parked on the side of the road, one of which was Christine’s vehicle. She went to investigate and talk with the police, hoping to assist. Instead, the police learned Christine had no registration on her vehicle.
Because of this, they immediately detained her, even though it was parked. Now, in every case I’ve ever heard of (and apparently everybody else), having no registration on a vehicle could lead to a citation. This means fines, court fees, and possibly a license suspension. But an arrest? It’s unheard of. Christine found herself in jail, alongside others, with no bond. Even worse, in just the few days she spent in prison, she witnessed women being abused.
In a follow-up video, Christine shared what she saw, of which the most horrifying was two pregnant women being pepper-sprayed. Christine herself was changed to a fence, which she was able to take a photo of since she still had her phone. More importantly, she claims the police “escalated situations that did not need to be escalated.”
“Cops are just out there terrorizing citizens,” one person replied. Others argued Christine was treated poorly for being an attorney who holds judges accountable in court. Looking at Christine’s content, she’s incredibly vocal, so it isn’t a big stretch that someone would throw their weight around. As another commenter pointed out, “Now you’re officially a whistleblower.”
As a lawyer, Christine likely has some ideas up her sleeve on how she’s going to move forward with her very own case, and I wish her the best. She’s going to have a field day with the police at her hearing!
