Insider Crushes Xbox Owners’ Hopes for Game Reveal, Says ‘No’ to South of Midnight Rumors

Must you keep disappointing yourself?

The upcoming Game Awards 2024 is often a home for many hopeful gamers anticipating announcements for their favorite titles. South of Midnight is among such titles and “leaks” and rumors point to how it’s going to have a release date and Xbox trailer reveal in The 2024 Game Awards. A reliable insider, however, has shut down such rumors with a concise and Spartan, “no.”

The rather crushing exchange took place on X/Twitter, where some rather excited leakers pointed out supposedly accurate leaks from Discord server chats. The chat records discussed South of Midnight’s release date of March 2025 and a trailer for the game’s release date at the Xbox segment of The 2024 Game Awards. But of course, insider Jez Corden had to debunk it.

No

The original post for the supposed leak and rumor might have been deleted after Jez Corden’s resolute reply.

In any case, Xbox owners and Xbox Game Pass subscribers might want to curb their excitement for now. Jez Corden, who also works as an Executive Editor at Windows Central seems confident enough that South of Midnight won’t be having a big reveal at The 2024 Game Awards.

Corden didn’t exactly specify what else would be happening or if there’s a smidgen of hope, which has left many onlookers disappointed or sad.

It’s worth noting that something similar happened during the 30th PlayStation Anniversary. Before, fans expected Sony to unveil a remaster for either God of War or Bloodborne, only for an insider to slam the expectations shut. As it turns out, there’s no reveal about God of War or Bloodborne, so the insider was correct.

Xbox owners and Game Pass subscribers can expect the same result. Right now, there’s no big news about South of Midnight.
