We can all use some positive news and vibes to remind everybody that society isn’t all about ICE, Trump, and bad news all over. It can be full of positive, good, and heartwarming stories, and people are willing to share stories that put smiles on people’s faces. This is exactly what happened when a Dallas woman took to Reddit to share a personal story in which she recently fulfilled her father’s 20-year-old promise in a tear-jerker of a tale.
On the wholesome Reddit page, a Texas user named Woofles_Fries505 shared a lovely, emotionally charged story about a promise 20 years in the making, and how she honored her father, who is sadly no longer with us, having passed away four years ago. This is the initial premise she laid out for people in the thread. It’s such an emotionally charged story.
This past Sunday was the Gold cup Mexico vs USA, my dad and I have been dreaming about going to one of the games, specifically with these two countries. We live in the US but my parents were immigrants from Mexico. My dad told me when I was around 7-8 that he would take me to go see fรบtbol match one day. Unfortunately he passed away 4 years ago and I told my family I was going to watch the game on Sunday. (On the tv.)
We live around the Dallas area and the game was going to be held at the NGR stadium at Houston which is like a 3-4 hour drive. My husband told me to go to the match instead. He convinced me by saying, โI will be fulfilling the promise and youโll be celebrating his birthday by doing something he loved doing with you.โ
Iโm tearing up writing this but honestly it was a great experience it felt like my dad was there. Plus Mexico winning it was so emotional and I just wished my dad was here to watch it with me.
Make sure to check the thread if you want every detail, but suffice to say her story and the images she shared are the exact kind of warm, special sentiment that warms the soul and can turn even the sternest frown into a smile. Many people on the Reddit post shared their thoughts and expressed their love and admiration for the lovely story.
“I am tearing up. You and your husband are absolutely priceless. Dad absolutely was there with you. Sending you both my love!”
“I love this. I know he was right there with you!โค๏ธ”
“Such a sweet post! ๐ฅน My dad passed away this year so this made me cry. Your dad would be proud and what an amazing husband you have! ๐ค”
Her tale is spreading and is going viral. This story should serve as an inspiration to take life as it comes each day and never take family for granted.
