Interaction on Gender Neutral Bathrooms at Nevada Bar Confuses Patron, ‘It’s a Toilet and a Sink and There’s a Door, What Else Matters’

The comedic timing is on point

Over the years there has been far too much bathroom debate. Use the bathroom you’re most comfortable with and move on, people. Unfortunately, some people are still confused by bathrooms, especially gender neutral bathrooms. One man from Nevada shared a recent discussion he had at a bar where he worked. The patron was confused about the bathroom situation, to which the man had the perfect response for.

The video was posted by TikTok user Collin (@theprincessandthepoppers), who said he works at a gay bar. During his shift, Collin was approached by a man who was looking for the men’s bathroom at the bar. Collin explained to him, “Both of our bathrooms are gender neutral so you can use whichever one you want.” But that apparently didn’t please the patron. He shot that down and said, “No, see, I’m looking for a place that has a bathroom for boys and a bathroom for girls.”

Collin stood firmly in place as he explained, “Yeah… We just let people use whichever bathroom they want here.” He also added, “Usually, people just go for the one which has the smaller line.” Then, the patron hit Collin with: “That’s embarrassing. Do you really support that?” The camera pans out and you see Collin standing there with a pink jersey and a denim mini-skirt. Collin nods and says, “I do actually… yeah…” And it should really be that easy for people to understand.

The video opened up commentary and good points concerning gender neutral bathrooms, most of which were incredibly healthy. One person pointed out, “Porta-potties at music festivals and major events have been gender neutral since invented – no one has ever said anything about that.”

Another woman stated, “And anyone who has ever been to a bar knows that at some point in the evening the bathrooms are gender neutral anyway.” When you’ve got to puke, those little stick figures don’t matter anymore. Hopefully, someone isn’t occupying the space before you ruin someone else’s night.

Ultimately, Collin’s message is clear: It’s a bathroom—use it or don’t. The other people there want to be out of there too, and aren’t particularly worried about conversation. And plus, the concept of a gender neutral bathroom wasn’t created in the past decade. But apparently, some people in Nevada are having a hard time with the idea or more likely transphobic.
