President Donald Trump has been heavily roasted online after posting an AI-generated image of himself walking beside a handcuffed alien. The image quickly went viral across multiple social media platforms, drawing thousands of reactions ranging from jokes and memes to criticism over the increasing number of AI-generated posts shared by the president. The post has also renewed discussions about Trump’s unusual online activity and the growing use of AI imagery in politics.
The image was originally uploaded to Truth Social, where it reportedly gained more than 11,000 likes along with thousands of reposts and replies. Soon after, screenshots of the image spread across platforms such as Reddit and X, formerly known as Twitter.
The AI-generated image showed Donald Trump walking beside a tall humanoid alien wearing handcuffs. The alien appeared muscular and dressed in a strange futuristic outfit while Trump walked beside it as if escorting a captured extraterrestrial. The image did not include any caption, explanation, or context from Trump. Users online quickly noticed several obvious AI mistakes in the picture, including awkward anatomy, strange accessories, disconnected restraints, and distorted hands in the background.
The alien image is only the latest in a long string of AI-generated posts shared by Donald Trump throughout 2026. According to BBC, Trump sparked backlash earlier this year after uploading an AI-generated image portraying himself as a Jesus-like figure healing a sick man in a hospital bed. The image appeared shortly after Trump publicly criticized Pope Leo XIV and was later removed following widespread criticism. When questioned about the image, Trump reportedly claimed he viewed it as portraying himself “as a doctor.”
Trump has also shared several futuristic military-themed AI images over recent months. Some posts showed him inside a space command center pressing a large red button while explosions appeared on nearby screens. Others featured robotic soldiers, satellite battles, and references to United States Space Force.
Online Users Mock Trump’s Alien Photo
Online reactions to the alien image were overwhelmingly sarcastic and mocking. Many users compared the image to sci-fi movies and alien romance memes, with several referencing “Alien vs. Predator.” Others joked that the alien looked “too attractive” or “weirdly jacked” for an extraterrestrial.
Some reactions focused less on the image itself and more on the fact that a sitting president was posting AI-generated content like this online. One commenter wrote, “It is so insane to me that the president of the United States posts stuff like this.” Another user added, “If any other president did this, it would be front-page news for weeks.”
The post also sparked discussions about UFO conspiracy theories and whether the sudden wave of alien-related discussions online was being used as a distraction from political controversies. Some users argued the image was harmless internet bait, while others criticized the normalization of increasingly bizarre political social media behavior.
Despite the backlash, the image continues to spread online as memes and edited versions keep circulating across social media platforms.
