Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, from guard dogs as big as a truck to ankle biters you could mistake for a loud barking hamster. But regardless of size, one breed always has an outsized personality, and that is the tiny but fearsome Chihuahua. One Massachusetts animal shelter has a lovely Chihuahua named Raymond who really needs a home, but he apparently prefers women in a rather amusing plot twist.

In a post shared on Facebook, the Animal Control shelter based in Ludlow, Massachusetts, shared a post introducing Raymond to potential folks looking to adopt. This is what the advertisement about Raymond stated, and many folks in the comments agree it is absolutely hilarious.
Heโs a Chihuahua with a heart full of opinions and a face that says, โDonโt talk to me unless you have right cheese.โ
He treats every new human like a potential serial killer.
If youโve ever had a Chihuahua, you already know the drill:
50% hatred, 50% attitude, 100% committed to glaring at you from across the room.
But hereโs the twistโcrack that tiny grump shell, and Raymond becomes a happy, wiggly, surprisingly delightful bundle of charm. It took me about a week of silent sit-ins (think awkward first dates with less eye contact) before he finally acknowledged my existence. Worth it.
He prefers the company of women, tolerates other dogs, and when it comes to kidsโฆ yeah, letโs just say no children under 10 unless theyโve completed advanced diplomacy training.
Ideal home? A single woman or a duo without small humans. Youโll need patience. Maybe a sense of humor. Maybe a bottle of wine or two. And nerves of steel.
As you can see in some of the pictures shared and via the link to his page here, they are keenly aware of the uphill battle this sometimes infamous breed can bring. Some folks had some fun things to say about Raymond in the comments.
“serious side eye !!”
“Probably the happiest dog I have ever seen. No doubt he will bring much joy to his new family!
“OMG!!! Too darn cute!!”
Chihuahuas need love, too, so hopefully somebody decides to adopt Raymond and give him everything his tiny three-year-old heart desires.
