Despite this age of gaming providing us with some of the most immersive experiences ever, there are still some things that just never change. For some reason, one of those things is games not releasing on Mac after launching on Windows. This is incredibly unfair to players who technically have the hardware required to play a game but simply can’t. When developers inZOI Studio announced their first game, inZOI, there were a lot of rumblings that it wouldn’t be available for Mac. Now that it’s out, those rumblings turned out to be true.

Playing inZOI on Mac

There are several ways to get the inZOI running on your Mac computer. However, only one is the safest and doesn’t require you to install any strange programs. You’ll need Boot Camp, an Apple software that allows you to install Windows 10. Depending on which computer model you have, various versions can be installed, so I recommend taking a look through this page before going any further. I also recommend going through this checklist to ensure that you have everything you need to get started:

  • A minimum of 64 GB storage space.
  • A USB with a minimum storage capacity of 16 GB.
    • Skip this step if your Mac does not have a USB plugin and read the third step to installing Windows down below.
  • Either a 64-bit version of Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro.

Installing Windows 10 on Mac

To actually get into the nitty-gritty of it and start installing inZOI, follow these instructions:

  1. Check your settings for a secure Boot.
    • If you are rocking the Apple T2 Security Chip, then set your Secuty Boot setting to ‘Ful Security.’ If, for some reason, it was changed to ‘No Security,’, then switch it.
  2. Open up Boot Camp Assistant.
  3. Make a Windows Partition, Format it, and Install it.
    • Once Boot Camp is finished installing, follow the onscreen instructions, which might prompt you to either insert a USB. Otherwise, follow the onscreen directions and ensure that your partition is at least 64 GB.
    • Your Mac will immediately restart into the Windows installer. Click the Boot Camp partition to install Windows and select the format button.
    • Just follow the onscreen instructions to easily install Windows onto your hardware.
  4. Install Boot Camp in Windows.
    • Your Mac will restart again and open the Boot Camp installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows and restart your Mac again.

Once all the above has been completed, you’ll be able to switch back and forth between operating systems by holding down the Option (Alt) โŒฅ key during startup. At that point, you can install Steam, purchase inZOI, and start testing the limits of your morality.
