When out in public, it is expected that people will behave themselves, especially if they are at their workplace. However, that was not the case for these Iowa Popeyes workers, who would refuse to bring this customer his food. The father would then record a TikTok video to post under the account, @James_Beastmod3. The video has since racked up around 12K views with only about 800 likes. However, it appears to be on its way to viral status all the same.
The TikTok begins with the father standing in the restaurant’s parking lot. As the man stands in front of the fast-food place, he begins to tell his side of the story. The man states that he is traveling with his son, and they had decided to stop somewhere to grab a bite to eat. Once they got to the Iowa Popeyes and went through the drive-through, they were asked to pull forward. This is a pretty common practice for most drive-through windows, so the father and son thought nothing of it. However, after some time had passed, the father began to notice something was off.
Iowa Man Has Alleged Racist Encounter at Popeyes
After looking around, the man claims that everyone, including the people who ordered after him, was getting their food almost right away. Everyone except for him and his son, that is. The father then states that they were the only Black people in the entire restaurant, and that he felt as though the extremely long wait was intentional. “If I was a white man, that s–t would never happen,” he can be heard saying in the TikTok.
The man then holds up his receipt from the Popeyes, as it has the restaurant’s address on it. It would appear that the man is attempting to start some kind of internet movement, no matter how big or small. The TikTok also has text that appears on screen, reading, “@Popeyes, please explain this. TikTok, do your thing!” While the comment section was up in arms regarding the man’s situation, it seems as though nothing major is in the works.
The TikTok’s caption states the Iowa father is upset that this happened in front of his child, and rightfully so. While there is technically no way to know for sure why the workers decided to ignore this man and his hungry son, this is still unacceptable behavior from the employees. Hopefully, that family never gives their business to Popeyes ever again after this.
