A shocking altercation unfolded recently in San Francisco, California that saw an irate Black woman hurling threats and abuse at a customer, who allegedly called her a “b*tch.” The incident reportedly took place in the Starbucks near Ellis O’Farrell at 170 O’Farrell St, and was caught on camera by a witness at the scene.
While the buildup before the altercation occurs is unclear, it’s fair to say that as soon as the two-minute clip starts, tensions are already sky high. There are two individuals at the heart of this incident: a male customer and the angry California woman. The man in question, donning a black cap worn backwards, a blue sweater, black pants, and white trainers, can be seen sat atop a stool at the Starbucks counter.
Oddly, however, the man’s head, cap, and sweater is covered in white foam, which is presumably whipped cream from a drink that has either been spilled on him or been thrown at him. The empty coffee cup can be seen strewn across the floor next to him, with puddles of cream splattered here and there.
Straightaway, the two kick off the video yelling loudly at each other, though it’s difficult to discern what is specifically being said as their yells drown each other out. “Give me my money back. Give me my money back!” the woman then instructs the employee behind the counter. The employee seemingly denies her request, though. “Yes, you can. I know you can! Give me my money back! I’m gonna sit here and you’re gonna give me my money. I don’t give a f*ck about security.” the lady angrily demands.
Pointing at the man covered in whipped cream, the California woman shouts, “I’m not your b*tch! I’m not your b*tch!” and begins threatening the man with homophobic slurs, “I will call my son to whoop your f*ggot ass!” In response, the man simply states, “Go ahead.”
Visibly furious, the woman then gets out her phone, and says under her breath, “You think I won’t motherf*cker?” before asking for her money back for the umpteenth time. In a bizarre twist, however, the man gets up and walks behind the counter, as if to get the money. “You want your god damn f*cking money?“
“Damn right I want my money. I want $6.15 cents.” fires the irate woman. Once the man gets behind the counter, however, he begins to just scream at the woman, “Do it! Do it!” It’s hard to make out everything else he’s yelling, though.
Moments later, however, a security guard enters the fray and begins to reason with the angry woman. “He called me a bitch.” she explains to him. The security guard infers that the woman may’ve assaulted the other man, as he’s covered in coffee. “He assaulted me too.” the lady responds, though typically, calling someone a “b*tch” doesn’t technically constitute assault on its own.
The end of the clip sees the furious woman picking up a phone-call from her son and exclaiming, “Son, I want you to come over here right now. Come over here right now. If I go to jail, I want you to dog walk this boy. I’m at Starbucks on Ellis O’Farrell.”
With the video gathering attention on social media, commenters largely sided with the Starbucks customer who appeared to be the target of all the harassment and threats. One Redditor weighed in, writing, “Imagine turning $6.15 into all of that. How embarrassing” while another added, “That mom is gonna get her son killed one day“. Elsewhere, a third commenter penned, “After this, I don’t think she needs to worry about getting to her job.”
