The current election has stirred up a ton of emotions from both sides of the political fence. Some are elated, others are furious, and there just doesn’t seem to be any room left to stand in the middle. In Ohio, some folks have decided to take a stand against the Trump administration, and the Republican party plans to enact the controversial Project 2025 with peaceful protests in the state.
In a post by Norah-the_explorer on the r/Cleveland Reddit page, folks were posting about the protests they ran as a stand to Project 2025 and the Fascist movement occurring with the government. Some Reddit posters who attended claimed 100 or so folks turned out for the protests, which was organized earlier in the week.
Much of these Cleveland protests have a lot to do with sweeping policy changes the Trump administration has already enacted in just a short amount of time, and incidents like Elon Musks Nazi salute and DOGE’s abuses of power and the ongoing deportation crisis sweeping the United States.
The protesters didn’t explicitly state a goal, but perhaps more of these showcases of unity will grow the numbers over time. The Reddit post itself was mixed on the display, however, with some applauding the efforts while others mocking or less enthused.
“Isolation is part of the strategy, keep forming communities and fighting back 💪”
“We love to see it! Solidarity with you ❤️”
“Looks like all 8 people had a good time.”
“Can we protest the city of East Cleveland who’s mayor and Chief of police been indicted on racketing and corruptions?”
“Lolol what an absolute flop. What are you even protesting a this point? Fixing a broken govt system? Efficient use of tax dollars? Voter ID laws? Fixing a broken immigration system? A return to normalcy?”
As you can see, the subject is very sensitive and undoubtedly will cause some friction over the coming weeks. Hopefully, nothing serious will come of it, and the protests will continue peacefully.
