Trump and ICE might be all the rage lately in the news, but the reason he got voted in was a large amount of hatred towards Biden and Kamala Harris by both Democrats and Republicans. It was obvious why Republicans didn’t vote for her, but the other side of the fence gets muddy. Many liberals were upset at the Gaza conflict, as if Trump wouldn’t make whatever was happening ten times worse, so they voted third party in a bid not to support either side. They clearly haven’t let it go, because some of them showed up to cause drama at her New York book tour date.
During the 107 Days book tour, kicking off in New York, in a post shared to the PublicFreakout Reddit, all was well until a trio of protestors started shouting and screaming about the genocide in Gaza and all that entails. She tried to calm down the fuss and urged everybody to remain cool, but ultimately she stepped forward and said something about the protesters as they were being arrested.
Unlike the current president of the United States, I understand what’s happening right now in Gaza. What is happening to the Palestinian people is outrageous, and it breaks my heart. I’m not president right now; there’s nothing I can do.
Now, what she said is true, of course, but that doesn’t stop people online from going nuts about her statements and her part in the situation in Gaza getting out of hand to begin with. They had a lot to say about her words and things she said at the event after the fact.
“These are the people who screamed against supporting Kamala/democrats because they weren’t doing enough to stop what’s happening in Palestine. These people apparently have no critical thinking abilities whatsoever, because the result of electing Trump instead of Harris in terms of the effects we’ve seen relative to the war in Gaza seemed extremely obvious at the time.”
“What a dumb and comfy suburban liberal take. No wonder you guys keep losing to a racist 90 yr old used car salesman.”
“The coordination Gaza social media campaign to get these people to not vote worked. Now it’s going to be scraped for shitty orange man hotels. Your protest Jill Stein vote was what they wanted. Why aren’t you searching for her?”
As you can see, whether she is in New York or anywhere else, there’s a percentage of liberals who are going to hold it against her. Even though Trump isn’t doing any better, Kamala and Biden remain easy targets to criticize, as they can’t really do anything about it now.
