Is Alex Moukala, the popular Hollywood-composer-slash-YouTuber, working on Final Fantasy XVI‘s soundtrack? Some Final Fantasy XIV players might have heard of his name or listened to his content on social media. Recently, Alex’s name blew up thanks to the massive Final Fantasy XIV‘s Close in the Distance collaboration cover comprising 1,400+ names from the community. With such huge dedication to the series, the Final Fantasy fanbase and soundtrack enjoyers are now wondering one thing. Has Square Enix invited Alex Moukala to the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI development and let him work on the game’s music?
Is Alex Moukala Working On Final Fantasy XVI’s Music?
I'm composing music full-time for several amazing videogames.
Can't disclose anything about them yet!
Anyway, I may not post as frequently on social media in the coming months because my focus will almost entirely be on writing banger soundtracks for those projects.
Wish me luck!— Alex Moukala (@alex_moukala) August 4, 2022
While fans may have been expecting Alex Moukala to be working on the soundtrack of Final Fantasy XVI, it turns out that is not the case. Alex Moukala is not working on the soundtrack of Final Fantasy XIV. However, Alex did receive early access to the highly-anticipated RPG and has been sharing his thoughts about the game. Nevertheless, considering his relationship with fellow industry composers, it was only a matter of time before Alex got the opportunity to do one himself.
In fact, Alex Moukala tweeted in August 2022 that he is busy working on “amazing video games” that are not Final Fantasy XVI. The exact number of games he is involved with remains undisclosed, though. Fortunately, one of the games he is working on has been officially announced. And it might satisfy the fans’ thirst for hearing his tune in an RPG genre.
One of the games that Alex has revealed is Second Stone: The Legend Of The Hidden World. Developed by Skyward Entertainment, the game is described as a “back to the roots” adventure RPG title. Set in a vast fantasy world, players will embark on a heroic journey through various environments and discover the secrets of a dark parallel world. You can watch the trailer below to catch a glimpse of the game and Alex’s handiwork.
It’s no Final Fantasy XVI, but Alex Moukala is definitely cooking up fresh and exhilarating beats that we can enjoy in the near future. We wish Alex the best of luck in his endeavors and eagerly await the exciting projects he is currently working on!
