Is Aventurine Good in Honkai: Star Rail?

Building a good team is very important in Honkai: Star Rail. While things are easy in the early games, you will face even more challenging opponents when you enter the end game. Of course, having a great character is also essential. While 4-star units are good, the best characters you can get are 5 stars. Among them is Aventurine, whose role is to be a sustainer who keeps your team alive. If you are wondering whether or not you should pull for Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail, here are some reasons why he is a good unit to get.

Aventurine is one of the best sustainers that you can have in Honkai: Star Rail, and he is also the best shielder. Although many players prefer to pull for DPS so they can see that sweet big damage number, having a good support unit is also important. While there are healers who can restore your HP, shielders are another important role that you have to fill in your team.

Besides providing a team-wide shield with his Skill, this man can also dish out decent DPS with his follow-up attacks. Whenever shielded units get attacked, he will gather more stacks. When you’ve filled that stack, he will retaliate against one enemy with Imaginary damage. He also has a good single-target DPS Ultimate that can inflict good damage.

He works extremely well in a follow-up attack team, but you can still throw him into any team comp when necessary. Unlike Acheron, Aventurine is not difficult to build since there are some decent 4-star Light Cones you can use instead of his signature.

Even if you have Gepard, I would still argue that pulling for Aventurine is a good upgrade for your account. While Gepard can handle the early game, you will need a powerful sustainer that can provide team-wide shields easily. Gepard reliance on his Ultimate to provide support has lessened his value.

It is also much harder for sustainers to get power crept. Sure, as the game progresses, there will be more fancy and powerful units, but it won’t be as bad as DPS characters. Unless you have a broken DPS who can one-shot everything, you will need to ensure your team survives against difficult bosses. Aventurine can provide this, so I definitely recommend pulling for him.
