Being nominated for this year’s SAG may just be Christina Applegate‘s last award show. Sadly, the 51-year-old might be drawing the curtain on her career. Since 2021, Applegate has been vocal about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. The “Dead To Me” star first informed fans with a Twitter update.
Without mincing words, she shared the difficulties of living with MS. Following her post, Selma Blair, her co-star on “Sweet Thing,” who had been affected by the disease, voiced words of support.
The following year, Applegate made honest remarks about the disease. The actress, who shares an only child, daughter, Sadie with her husband, Martyn LeNoble, said:
“I wish I had paid attention. But who was I to know?”
During her truthful interview with NYT, she mentioned that the “Dead To Me” crew took a break, which helped her recuperate. However, she was obliged to finish the show. Though the series creator Liz Feldman asked her to slow down, she declined.
Eventually, they wrapped up productions on her own terms. But her time on the show has not gone unrecognized. She has bagged a SAG nomination for her role in “Dead To Me,” but this might sadly be Christina Applegate’s last award show.

Christina Applegate’s Last Award Show, The SAG— She Hints
The actress’s recent interview with Los Angeles Times has made many to wonder if appearing at the SAG ceremony will be Christina Applegate’s last award show. In no small way, the actress has noted that she will be dropping the crown as Jen Harding and may not have to attend another award show.
“Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set. I don’t have that in me at this moment,” she quipped. But that has only allowed her to appreciate the nomination even more. For her, her last award show is a “big deal.”
Though it may not sound shocking to those she worked with, as the actress has had to alert them of her MS diagnosis in the past. During an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Applegate hinted that filming was almost impossible, and she got to work in a wheelchair. Thankfully, someone noticed she needed an MRI.
Christina Applegate and SAG awards may be a thing of the past after she retires from TV appearances, but the actress is ready to throw her weight into voice-over acting. Without any intentions of parting entirely with her passion, she explained that her plans include producing and doing voiceovers so that her “daughter’s fed, and (they’re) homed.”
