The short answer is no; Dumbledore is not in Hogwarts Legacy. While the game is set in the 1800s, Dumbledore became a student of the school of witchcraft and wizardry in 1892. This means that the game would have to be set around those years for us to meet Dumbledore during the first years.
As a result, we don’t expect to see him when the game arrives. Even if some would hope to see some familiar characters, the game is original in a way to attract fans from books and movies and those unfamiliar with the material.
However, there are some characters that we can expect to make an appearance in the game. So far, we’ve seen some familiar ghosts roaming the halls of Hogwarts. Nearly Headless Nick is one of the ghosts we’ve seen in trailers, and people are quite happy about that. Now, there might be more, but that’s the big character we have spotted so far. There’s a Weasley teacher in the castle. This means this iconic family was already there during those years.
So, yes — there are some nods here and there for fans of the saga, but it seems the game wants to remain original to an extent. For those wondering if Dumbledore is in Hogwarts Legacy, this is sad news, of course, but that doesn’t mean the game will be bad.
