This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second remake in the modern FF7 series. In a way, it’s beginning to mimic the original game’s three discs. The second installment of the famous game is taking the scale to a level that only modern games and technology can faithfully recreate. It makes the previous look so much smaller in scale. Now that Rebirth is officially out, does that mean it’s the last game in the remakes, or will there be another FF7 game after Rebirth?

No, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is not the last game, as there will be another game after it. When that game will be released or what its name is going to be has yet to be revealed. Judging by the fact that it’s been a little less than four years since Final Fantasy 7 Remake came out, the same amount of time and effort may be put into the next installment.

Another evident reason there will be another game is based on how this one ends. In the original game, both Cid and Vincent join your party as playable characters. In Rebirth, they join Cloud and the others in their conquest against Sephiroth. Neither of them is playable now, but it’s certain they were added to show players that they will be involved right from the start of the next game.

Also, as mentioned before, the original FF7 had three discs that needed to be played through. It would make sense for the Remake to have three games to pay homage to the original in that way.

While we have a long wait ahead of us for “FF7 Reborn,” “Reincarnation,” or whatever Square Enix decides to call it, here’s a chill video of Tifa giving Aerith a backrub:
