One of the most anticipated updates for Honkai Star Rail doesn’t pertain to a character; instead, it concerns the PS4 and PS5 releases. Given how other HoYoverse games, such as Genshin Impact, are playable on Sony’s console, many wonder if the company’s latest gacha title will be on consoles, too. Thankfully, after a bit of waiting and many beefy updates, Trailblazers worldwide won’t have to wait longer for this game to arrive on PlayStation.
Honkai Star Rail: PS4 and PS5 Download Guide
Long story short, Honkai Star Rail has been available on PS5 since the 1.4 update; sadly, there’s no PS4 version, and the developers haven’t confirmed it. While many Trailblazers would love to journey to Jarilo VI, the Xianzhou, and other fun places on PS4, they’ll have to wait a bit. However, those with a PS5 can download the game for free by heading to the PS Store. Those who pre-ordered for $9.99 can enjoy the bonuses, which include:

If you want to start your Honkai Star Rail journey on PS5, here’s what you have to do if you’re a new player:
- Head to the game’s official site.
- Click on login; if you don’t have an account, click register in the bottom right corner.
- Follow the steps to make your account.
- Go back to your PS5 and download the game.
- Log in with your credentials.
Doing so will let you save your progress and play the new console version. Of course, you also need an internet connection; however, PlayStation players do not need an active PS Plus subscription to play the game.
