The reason Joshua left Clive and didn’t tell him anything was to save him. Clive was targeted by Ultima as a host that could steal the powers of Eikons and reshape them. Joshua first saw this when they fought and then decided to stay hidden for the safety of Clive until he was powerful enough to help him.
