Officially, the early access to a brand-new game centered around city building and tactical combat has started. Yes, we’re talking about none other than Manor Lords, where you can discover your own territory and become the most powerful feudal lord of the Middle Ages. This game is now available for Xbox Game Pass and Steam. Users of Valve’s platform are hopeful about the potential of enjoying Manor Lords anywhere from the Steam Deck handheld console. However, is this game fully verified to work on the go, or does it need a few tweaks?

Manor Lords Isn’t Steam Deck Verified, But It Doesn’t Mean You Can’t Play It

From what we can gather, Manor Lords is not verified for Steam Deck, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. This game is playable but requires extra settings, and even then, it might not be the best experience. Players have reported so far that they have had to use the trackpad or touch screen more, as the buttons don’t work at all. Some have used third-party apps to modify shortcuts and keybinds to get some inputs to work. Another issue that Manor Lords can have on the handheld console is that the text is sometimes complex to read, or players can’t understand them in other cases. However, this reading issue can be improved by changing the graphics settings.

Regarding performance, there are few bugs that compromise the whole game experience. Slavic Magic has not revealed whether it will make changes so that Manor Lords will be verified for Steam Deck in the future. For now, it is in early access; the developer indeed has a lot of work ahead, especially for a team of only one person. So, let’s be patient and wait for all the improvements or future updates this medieval construction and strategy game may have.
