When it comes to fighting games, one of the biggest features of this genre is letting you play against other players regardless of their platform. This has been something that the latest games have implemented, and Mortal Kombat 1 is no exception. However, if you jumped into the game at launch, you might’ve noticed this feature wasn’t there. The developers have already claimed Mortal Kombat 1 will include Crossplay and Cross-Platform, and if you want to know how it works, this guide is for you.
Does Mortal Kombat 1 Have Cross-Platform? Answered
As of now, it doesn’t. Mortal Kombat 1 does not have Cross-Platform or Crossplay features. While this is sad for many, that doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way. Before the game’s launch, NetherRealm confirmed the game will get these features in subsequent updates, meaning players will have a chance to play against other opponents across the globe on different platforms.
How Does Crossplay and Cross-Platform Work?
While the details are uncertain, it’s safe to speculate these features will work as in any other title. Players who have the game will be paired against others regardless of their platform. We imagine it might work similarly to recent games where you can opt between Crossplay and Cross-Platform matches. However, this is all speculation, as we haven’t heard anything official from the developers.

While it might be a bummer for many to see the lack of Crossplay and Cross-Platform features in Mortal Kombat 1, the game still has many things to offer. Same-platform matches can happen, and you only need an online subscription for your console; PC users also don’t need that, of course. If you have it, select Versus on the main menu and go to Online to join the League and try to climb the ladder to become the best Kombatant in the realms.
