Palia is an upcoming online-only game from developer team Singularity6. Like most trending and popular games lately, this title is also going to feature a huge and expansive world for players to explore freely. And of course, having an adventure is much more fun with fellow friends than going at it alone. Many are currently asking whether Palia is playable in co-op mode or not. Let’s explain.
Can You Play Palia in Multiplayer Co-Op Mode?
Yes, you can play Palia co-op with friends as the game is an MMORPG. While Singularity6 hasn’t revealed the maximum number of players in a server, the game should support dozens of active players at the same time. The developer has said that the social and cooperative gameplay is the main feature of Palia. The whole online game is designed so it can be played alone. Still, they believe that the game is better played together as they aim to provide a “real sense of community and belonging.”
This multiplayer online game focuses on developing non-combat skills. From hunting, bug catching, gardening, cooking, fishing, mining, and foraging, to crafting furniture. Improving all of these skills will contribute to building your own home in this fantasy world. Yes, the game will have player housing, if you’re looking for such a system! It will also feature combat, but it’s not the main focus and there’s no PvP since Palia plans to serve a comfy co-op experience.
Aside from PC, Palia is also going to be released on Nintendo Switch once the PC version has been launched. The team is also planning to support cross-progression and cross-play. That way, you can bring your Palia character from PC to Nintendo Switch or vice versa and play co-op wherever you are.
Singularity6 is launching public betas on August 2023, letting new players taste the Palia co-op experience. The closed beta will start on August 2, at 10:00 AM PT. Meanwhile, the open beta will begin on August 10, at 10:00 AM PT. Any progress you have made during the beta also will not be wiped. You can continue playing with your account when the full game is released sometime later this year for America and Europe.
