MMO fans wonder how much it will cost whenever a new game comes out. With its unique concept, cozy universe, and detailed gameplay, Palia fascinates many farm sim lovers. Even though Palia will be released in the Winter, access to its open beta is available from August 10 on some platforms. But do you have to spend tons of money to play Palia, or do you just have to download and play the game? Read on to know if Palia is free-to-play and about the game’s monetization system.
Can You Play Palia for Free?
Yes, Palia is completely free-to-play in open beta and it will be free at launch. You can only play the beta on PC, but if you want to play it on Nintendo Switch when it’s released, the game will still be free. Therefore, you won’t need to pay for the game or buy any subscriptions to enjoy the base game. Starting on August 10, you can play the game completely free on PC until the open beta ends.
Singularity 6 has been upfront about Palia‘s company plan and its approach to keeping the game free to play without spending tons of money. Their reason for this move is to bring each player closer to enhance the MMO community and create a peaceful environment. Together with your friends, you can explore the magical universe of Palia and embark on exciting adventures without paying a penny. Unlike other costly new MMORPGs, Palia aims to provide a very unique and accessible gaming experience.
How Is Palia’s Monetization System?
Nothing that affects the core gameplay, quests, story, or progress will be monetized in Palia. You can play the game completely without paying any money. You can earn Achievements, buy your own house, and interact with NPCs. In-game cosmetics are the only thing monetized in Palia.
These include costumes, jewelry, and anything related to looks. That means those who want to change their appearance can buy various clothing pieces in the game for real money. However, this does not affect gameplay at all and only changes the character’s appearance. These skins will be available for purchase with “Palia Coins” in Palia‘s in-game store.
