Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce was officially finalized on Friday, October 28. However, an insider report claims Tom Brady didn’t want a divorce to be the final resort. Tom and Gisele’s impending divorce made headlines for as long as the couple tried to work things out. Eventually, the marriage dissolved last Friday, and the duo is officially single again after 13 years of marriage. Read on for more details.
Tom Brady Didn’t Want Divorce
A source close to Tom mentioned that he considered therapy and marriage counseling because he didn’t want a divorce. However, the source told PEOPLE that the quarterback wanted to do everything he could to make things work.
“This was not Tom’s idea. This was never Tom’s idea,” the source stated.
The insider added that Tom wanted to work things out because he didn’t want their kids to have divorced parents. However, Gisele wanted none of it.
Gisele felt that the gesture was too late as she gave him many opportunities to fix things. However, the supermodel also thought it was too little compared to what she expected.
Tom’s decision to renege on his retirement from the NFL caused much tension between the lovebirds. Although the 45-year-old tried to make it up to Gisele, what she wanted ultimately differed from his desire. Tom Brady didn’t want a divorce but couldn’t give up playing, either.
The source revealed that Tom’s desire to follow his dreams throughout their marriage wasn’t a bad decision. Nevertheless, it left Gisele feeling disrespected and unheard.
Tom And Gisele Will Have Joint Custody Of Their Children
Tom and Gisele’s divorce was quick. The couple hired divorce attorneys in early October to kick-start the process.
A court document revealed that the dissolution was finalized on October 28 in Glades County, Florida. The paperwork officially declared the marriage dissolved and “irretrievably broken.”
An insider also disclosed that the former couple would have joint custody of their kids, Benjamin and Vivian. Meanwhile, Brady will remain in Tampa, while Gisele will live about four hours away in Miami, where he also has a residence.
Tom Brady and Gisele’s divorce is an awful development. However, they still have their kids to care for. Fans of the couple will still be holding out hope that they will reconcile. If that happens, their family and loved ones will be ecstatic.
