Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has all the humor and emotional devastation you would expect from the trilogy. To celebrate the film’s release, James Gunn has been sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes pictures and videos, like test footage of baby Rocket Raccoon (seen below). The video shows the little raccoon happily scurrying around.
James Gunn has been giving plenty of baby Rocket Raccoon and grown Rocket love recently. On May 1, he tweeted footage of two baby raccoons playing together in a tear-jerkingly adorable video. Between these videos, we get a detailed look at how the animal animations have evolved over the films with greater detail in expressions and fur. While Marvel has had ups and downs in its CGI, this has been some of the highest quality we have seen in the blockbuster space.
“Mondays are made for #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol3,” the director tweeted.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we get insight into Rocket’s backstory, including seeing baby Rocket Raccoon. He was an experiment from the High Evolutionary (Chukwidu Iwuji), who tried to perfect his science to create the perfect society. That madness brought in horrible experiments and torture for him to obtain what would be perfection in his mind. The film sees the Guardians facing him as he tries to get Rocket back into his possession.
James Gunn has always been a great person to follow on social media. The filmmaker answers fan questions and shares videos and pictures to give a look at the making of his beloved films. He has given all sorts of insight, like revealing cameos such as Pete Davidson, himself, and his wife, Jennifer Holland.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the current end of the Guardians as we know it, as the director focuses on leading DC. The film is currently in theaters.
