Jason Kelce and his younger brother Travis Kelce have been taking the world by storm over the past year. However, despite their very close relationship it seems as though Jason is not as upset at the reality that his brother just lost the Super Bowl. This would be due to the fact that Jason is also a massive Philadelphia Eagles fan. It appears to be quite the bittersweet moment for the former NFL star. The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles on Super Bowl Sunday with a final score of 22-40.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Jason Kelce attempted to get his mixed feelings across without showing too much “pity” for his brother Travis Kelce. However, Jason, of course, had to rep his former team by ending the long social media post with a classic “Go Birds.” However, despite his excitement, the oldest of the two Kelce brothers still feels bad for his little brother. Travis and the Chiefs were on the verge of NFL as well as sports history. If they had won, fans would have witnessed the NFL’s first-ever “three-peat.” With that comes a legacy that no others can downplay.
A Look at Jason Kelce’s Fantastic Career Amid Travis Kelce Drama
Jason has recently retired from the NFL. However, his impressive career is still talked about. Kelce was drafted by the Eagles in 2011. He would then have an excellent rookie season that landed him a big contract extension. Jason would then flip a switch and become arguably the best center in the game at the time. The athlete would then finally reach the top after Philly took down the Patriots in the 2018 Super Bowl. Jason would then retire after the 2023-24 season and become an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.
Jason Kelce also opened up about how hard it was to try and root for both teams. Kelce explained that he finally understands what his parents felt like after watching their sons face off in Super Bowl 57. Jason has been placed between a rock and a hard place here. It is more than likely complex to celebrate your team winning a championship when his own flesh and blood had to suffer.
Despite the obvious look of despair on Travis Kelce’s face after the Chiefs’ embarrassing loss in New Orleans, it would not be a surprise if Travis is still a little happy for his brother. Jason Kelce gave everything he had to the Eagles organization, and with the brothers being as close as they are, they surely understand each other’s emotions.
