The hero days are going in the background while Jason Momoa becomes a baddie in Fast & Furious. While on the red carpet for the third season of his Apple TV series See, he talked to Variety to deliver a tease at what’s to come about his character, although he cannot do a full unveiling as it is a little too early.
“He’s very sadistic and androgynous, and he’s a bit of a peacock,” Jason Momoa said. “He’s got a lot of issues, this guy.”
Jason Momoa has been an action hero from his time as Aquaman, which he reprises for the sequel in 2023, and in other films like Dune and Sweet Girl. To play the villain, he said he is having the “time of my life.”
Jason Momoa talks being a villain in Fast & Furious 10
The entry with Jason Momoa of the blockbuster series will be the tenth entry, titled Fast X. It will be a two-parter to close it out after 20 years. Older stars of the franchise like leading man Vin Diesel will meet new faces like the Game of Thrones alum Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Alan Ritchson (Titans), Brie Larson, and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad).
Production on Fast X has been rough. First, director Justin Lin exited the project after helming multiple films in the franchise. Most recently, Angelino Heights, the neighborhood in Los Angeles, has had residents put their foot down about the franchise. After the films have inspired fans to race down the streets, it has made the community concerned over their safety. In response, there will be a protest against the film’s production, which is set to shoot in the neighborhood this Friday.
There will be plenty of Jason Momoa for fans to go around. The third and final season of See will premiere on August 26. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits theaters on March 17, followed by the next Fast & Furious on May 19. Fast X is still maintaining its current release date, despite its production problems.
