Jason’s Great, but When Is Ranked Coming to MultiVersus? Answered

Rick Sanchez vs. the world

The biggest draw of mash-up fighting games like MultiVersus and Super Smash Bros. is their huge rosters, but Ranked mode is up there. The fighting game community is famous for its competitive spirit, and MultiVersus is an excellent proving ground. Watching the Iron Giant go toe-to-toe with Jason Voorhees, The Joker, and Steven Universe is one thing. Becoming the world’s best Iron Giant (and having the stats to back it up)? That’s something else. Ranked will bring out all the top talent when it finally releases, but how long until that happens? Here’s what you need to know about when Ranked is coming to MultiVersus.

Unfortunately, Ranked isn’t unlocked in MultiVersus, and there’s no word on when it will be. Player First Games hasn’t made any official announcements about the release schedule for Ranked. Although it’s frustrating, delaying the release of a Ranked mode isn’t unheard of, and there are two good reasons for doing so. New games often wrestle with unstable servers, and the devs need time to get them sorted out. Nothing stings quite as much as finally triumphing over that squirrely Bugs player only to have the game crash, losing your Ranked progress.

The big reason to hold off on Ranked mode is balance. With new characters like Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith entering the cartoon fray, the devs need to ensure that no character is OP or grossly underpowered before unleashing players on the leaderboard. If there’s a bright side, it’s that this delay gives you plenty of time to perfect your skills in each role before the competition heats up. Mastering Aton’s Havoc, Meeseek and Destroy, and other abilities takes time. Since nobody knows when Ranked is coming to MultiVersus, take this chance to sharpen your skills. We know those Rick players will be.
