Jeff Bridges posted a cryptic video on Twitter featuring himself as none other than The Dude from cult-classic The Big Lebowski.
In the 15-second clip, Bridges can be seen in full Dude garb (20 years later) walking into a bar as Bob Dylan’s “The Man in Me” plays in the background, which fans of the film will recognize. The short piece is accompanied by a caption from Bridges: “Can’t be living in the past, man. Stay tuned.”
The end of the video shows a tumbleweed revealing the date “2.3.19”, which many knows is Super Bowl Sunday. The tweet and clip can be seen below:

Before you get too excited, this isn’t likely to be a trailer for a sequel to The Big Lebowski. Super Bowl Sunday is known to be the biggest day of the year for commercials and advertisements, so it can be assumed that this is just a tease for a new ad campaign that features everyone’s favorite slacker. Although, if it does turn out to be a sequel, we won’t be too upset about that, would we?
A similar situation happened at last year’s Super Bowl in regards to a parody Crocodile Dundee sequel starring Danny McBride and Chris Hemsworth. The tease had everyone speculating that it would be a trailer to a new film when the footage was released but eventually turned out to be a commercial campaign for Australian tourism. While disappointing, the ad was a huge success at being entertaining.
No matter what happens, it’s great to see The Dude again.
What do you think the video is teasing? Are you hoping for a new Coen Brothers film or do you assume it’s just another Super Bowl commercial? Let us know what your opinion is in the comments!
