Jelly Roll isn’t one to hold anything back. While appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show to discuss all things American Idol, the country music star revealed that one of his concerts turned into a disaster after he soiled himself on stage. Apparently, he thought he was just going to pass some gas, but ended up having an accident instead. He tried continuing his performance as if nothing had happened. However, he quickly realized there was no going back after seeing the crowd’s reaction to his unfortunate incident.
Jelly Roll’s Most Embarrassing Moment
During the latest episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, American Idol stars Jelly Roll and Luke Bryan were asked to recall their most embarrassing moment. The “I Am Not Okay” singer instantly thought of an example. “I pooped myself one time,” he said.
Jelly Roll’s confession was so unexpected that it left Hudson at a loss for words. She opened her mouth in disbelief and then turned to the live audience, who were just as taken aback as her. They could be heard gasping and erupting into a fit of laughter in the background. As for Bryan, he responded by shouting “Hey!” at Jelly Roll to prevent him from sharing more. While he thought the confession was TMI, he also couldn’t help but find the whole thing amusing and join in the laughter.
“I’m sorry,” Jelly Roll said after leaving everyone in the room speechless. “I didn’t know. I was confident it was all air.”
Despite soiling his pants, the star explained he still tried to finish his performance. However, he realized it was too late to save the show after the crowd had mentally checked themselves out after witnessing the incident. “I watched this crowd go from loving me to just being completely out,” Jelly Roll recalled, before admitting, “I overshared again.”
Getting A Taste of Reality TV
Jelly Roll and Luke Bryan appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show to promote the return of American Idol. Season 23 of the reality series premiered on Sunday, March 9, on ABC. Bryan came back as a judge alongside singer and record producer Lionel Richie and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. The “Before He Cheats” singer, who came out on top during the show’s fourth season, signed on as a judge to replace Katy Perry.
As for Jelly Roll, he recently joined the competition series as its first-ever Artist In Residence. The role involves him working closely with the show’s contestants by acting as their mentor.
Jelly Roll becoming part of the American Idol family has just been one of his most recent achievements. In November, the singer announced he had lost 100 pounds after making several lifestyle changes, including getting regular exercise and eating healthier. He debuted his jaw-dropping transformation at the 2024 CMAs. During a red carpet interview, he revealed he was inspired to lose weight to overcome his food addiction.
