Jennifer Garner faces the heat after influencer digs out interview proving she isn’t as saintly as she portrays herself in the wake of the LA wildfires. Like many public figures, Jennifer has stepped out in support of victims of the devastating California infernos. Since the onset of the wildfires, the Green Lantern star has teamed up with World Central Kitchen to provide food for firefighters and victims of the ravaging fires. Her actions amid the fires earned the actress praise from fans, However, one netizen believes the star deserves no praise, as her volunteering endeavors were only a veil hiding her true nature.
The TikToker reshared a snippet from an NBC interview where she discussed her volunteering endeavors in detail, portraying herself as a compassionate philanthropist. Jennifer appeared emotional as she revealed her friend who lived in one of the buildings in the Atladena area had passed away in the fires. She described the experience as “too awful to talk about” and “unimaginable.” The actress appeared to get emotional at the revelation, placing one palm above her eyes. However, the social media user dubbed her “a terrible actress.”
Resurfaced Interview Rips Into Jennifer Garner Amid LA Wildfires
Doubling down on the allegation, the TikToker referenced a 2017 interview featuring Jennifer Garner, and Regina King among guests at the famed Chelsea Handler’s Dinner party: My American Experience.
During the meal, the guests discussed their American history, with Regina explaining how she was one of a few people who could boast of being born and bred in Los Angeles. As the actress went on about taking pride in her LA native status, Jennifer interrupted her with an off-putting question about her ancestry.
Undeterred, Regina brushed the sting with a curt laugh, and went on to explain her ancestors were “part of the triangle slave trade from Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Senegal.” Explaining further, Regina clarified that regardless of ancestry, both her parents came from the South, and met there before her mom decided to move to LA, where she was eventually born. The awkward conversation went viral in 2023, leaving many calling out Jennifer for being brutal and insensitive.
TikToker Slams Jennifer’s Public Show of Compassion
Drawing conclusions from all three uploaded videos in the TikTok post, the user concluded Jennifer Garner was not as good a person as she portrayed herself to be. She questioned the star’s constant appearance in paparazzi shots with her kids even when she had nothing to promote. The user explained that such people evoked suspicion, making them question the “narrative that’s constantly being presented.”
On the surface, such narratives compel people to believe the person in question is an amazing person. Yet, observing Jennifer Garner’s actions in the interview clip, and comparing it with her recent displays amid the LA wildfires provokes a different idea. She added,
“That woman’s a terrible actress first of all. Second of all, there’s no reason that if you are a celebrity, you can’t just quietly write a check. There’s no reason that you need to run and find the nearest camera to somehow make this about yourself.”
She also slammed the idea that as a celebrity, Jennifer’s presence could draw attention to the ongoing LA wildfires. According to the influencer, the inferno blazing through one of the most famous cities in the world didn’t exactly need more attention drawn to it. Interestingly, several commenters keyed into the poster’s perspective, concluding the 13 Going on 30 star is “not a good person.”
Jenifer Garner, who sparked sympathy earlier after revealing the heartbreaking loss of her dear friend in the LA wildfires is just one of many celebrities volunteering in the relief efforts. Much like the icon, other stars like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also sparked criticism with their efforts to physically support victims. Many believe such a public show of support was unnecessary given they could easily make anonymous donations to organizations geared towards relief efforts. Deciding to show their faces in front of the ever-lurking cameras while doing so could easily deflect attention from the actual disaster, making their actions questionable.
