The exes made one final step towards their clean-cut split last month, filing their divorce settlement with the court. Weeks after the filing, a judge granted them the nod of approval, per TMZ. By implication, both Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have become officially single and free to legally wed other people if they so desire per the legal paperwork in effect from Thursday, February 20.

While their settlement did not play out as the messy divorce many had anticipated for the couple who did not have a prenup, they’ve got enough drama to keep them occupied. On Affleck’s part, sources claim the actor is slowly succumbing to unhealthy eating habits in the wake of his split. According to them, the 52-year-old continues to binge on fast food and junk, which he had to give up on during his time with Lopez.
Additionally, Ben Affleck reportedly has squabbles with his first wife, and mother of his kids, Jennifer Garner over his ill-treatment of Lopez since the divorce. Sources claim Garner is displeased by the Batman actor’s attitude towards his ex-wife, who he reportedly ignores despite her efforts to draw him closer. Now, this drama between the former couple appears to seep into the relationship with each other’s kids.
Ben Affleck’s Daughter Cut Ties With Jennifer Lopez After Single Status
Speaking to Daily Mail, one source revealed that Ben Affleck’s daughter, Violet, has decided to cut ties with Jennifer Lopez completely in the wake of the divorce and new single status. The source explained that the teenager came to terms with the decision on her own, after realizing she was simply a pawn caught between her dad and stepmom’s divorce drama. The insider explained,
“Violet felt like she was used as a pawn, so to speak, during her dad’s split from JLo.”
Explaining further, the insider recounted how Violet’s close friendship with the now-single Jennifer Lopez always seemed odd to the family. Even at the height of the divorce, the teenager always stayed in touch with Lopez, hanging out with her and wearing her clothes freely despite her family’s concerns. However, Garner never interfered in this friendship, as she respected her daughter’s happiness, and understood she could make her own choices as an adult. With time, the 19-year-old eventually made the deduction herself, resolving to do what she thought best for everyone. The insider shared,
“Violet started to see how upset her father was that their split was at the center of everything. Ben never said a word about JLo. Violet is highly intelligent and will ultimately always be a daddy’s girl. This is why you do not see her on public outings with JLo anymore.”
So where does that leave Jennifer Lopez? The 55-year-old remains committed to being a proud mom to her twins, Emme and Max while pursuing her career. She made a big stride towards moving on after settling her divorce via mediation with celeb lawyer Laura Wasser. The settlement allows the couple to keep their shares of things they acquired individually during their marriage. Meanwhile, Affleck and Lopez have continued to lead separate lives, leaving their kids scrambling to readjust to the clean break after embracing life as a blended family.
