Jennifer Lopez was attacked by the style police as recent photos of her in The Hamptons made headlines this week. On July 8, the singer and actress was photographed in upstate NY while stunning in a flowing floral maxi dress, choosing a summery look with a cinched waist that more than highlighted her figure.
While some fans discussed Jen‘s continued time apart from husband Ben Affleck as the two fuel divorce rumors, others focused on her fashion choice. Lopez, 54, had paired her floor-length dress with a massive pair of platform heels. In an age-shaming moment, one user told the American Idol judge that she’s “too old” for that kind of look.

Keeping her look floaty, Jennifer wowed as she and her entourage made their way through streets. Accompanied by 16-year-old daughter Emme, the pop singer rocked a floral-print, pink dress sending out girly vibes, choosing a short-sleeved number with a hanging foldover at the chest.
Going frilly at the foldover and sleeves, Jennifer flashed her toned arms and slim waist amid her recent weight loss, accessorizing her gown with a wicker bucket bag in cream and matching heels.
Teetering around in her wedge platforms, JLo injected some glitter from the straps of her footwear, also keeping glam in tinted shades. The Latina, who rocked a ponytail, wore a full face of makeup, although the cameras didn’t manage to catch her smiling.
Told She’s ‘Too Old’ For That Look
When The Daily Mail published the photos, users quickly commented. “Sorry but she is too old to wear that dress,” one said, gaining approval from over 40 others. Possibly making a typo as they suggested that Lopez had picked impractical footwear, another jumped in to say: “Those shoes look really comfortable to be walking around in. How ridiculous.”
Also challenging Jen’s outfit choice, a third chimed in as they wrote: “Why can’t she just wear a tank top, shorts and sandals or sneakers? Good lord.”
Jennifer spent the Fourth of July in The Hamptons while 2022-married husband Ben Affleck stayed in L.A. The couple, who has been sparking divorce speculation for months, is said to be living apart. They’ve now listed the $60 million mansion they once co-habited in, with Ben having since removed his belongings from the lavish property.
In late June, JLo jetted out solo for an Italy vacation. She was also minus her husband at the premiere of her Atlas movie. To top it all off, the JLo Beauty founder has now canceled her summer tour as she states wanting to focus on her family.
