Jeremy Renner is teasing his return to the MCU for Avengers 4.
Avengers 4 is currently undergoing some reshoots at the moment with rumors of the film adding more scenes of Wakanda, Black Panther, and our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (who may be taking a trip to the Vibranium filled country). Renner shared his excitement via Instagram:
Clint Barton (or Hawkeye) was absent for the entirety of Avengers: Infinity War aside for a quick mention on why heās sitting out the fight against Thanos. The character was said to be back in retirement after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Since half of the universeās population has been erased from existence, itās safe to say that Barton will come back out of retirement yet again to avenge his fallen comrades.
Like every other MCU character, Hawkeyeās part in Avengers 4 is relatively unknown. He should be in store for a major role as this seems to be the end for our original crew of Avengers.
Ant-Man is another hero who sat out the events of Infinity War due to early retirement. The last we saw of Scott Lang was in Ant-Man and the Wasp. During the end credits (Major MCU Spoilers ahead), Scott was trapped in the Quantum Realm after Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, and Hope Van Dyne were all erased by Thanos. Ant-Man is set to be a crucial part of how weāll get all of our dusted heroes back seeing as time-travel appears to be the only way for him to escape.
Avengers 4 will release May 3, 2019.
