(Spoilers for The Flash season 5 ahead)
The season 5 finale of The Flash concluded on a somber note with the death of Nora West-Allen. The Reverse-Flash had orchestrated an elaborate plan to free himself from prison and get his powers back. To do so, he manipulated Nora into traveling back in time as an attempt to find a way to save her father, Barry Allen, from his imminent death (Presumably in Crisis on Infinite Earths). By stopping Cicada and destroying her power-dampening dagger, which had been keeping the Reverse-Flash from using his abilities, the timeline had changed and this caused Nora to be erased from existence. At least for now.
“With comic book characters, anything could happen. She’s gone for now, but I think that there’s always a way to bring somebody back, on a show like that, and I definitely would be happy to do something like that. But yeah, as far as I know, she’s gone, for the moment.”
Kennedy also discussed what it was like to be apart of a show like The Flash:
“I think just being able to play a superhero is something that everyone wants to do. There are so many movies and TV shows out there, so I feel really lucky that I got to participate in that and wear a superhero costume. It’s the most popular show on The CW, so I felt really grateful being able to be on it. Everyone was just incredibly welcoming, on that show. I felt like a part of the family, really quickly.”
With characters like the Reverse-Flash still looming around despite being erased from the timeline, there is always a chance we could see XS once again appear on The Flash sometime in the future, whether that be as Nora West-Allen or under a new name. The Flash will return this Fall with a new showrunner and will presumably help set up the highly-anticipated Crisis on Infinite Earths, which is set to be the most ambitious crossover event for DCTV yet.
