Recently, Kylie Jenner‘s StandWithUs post landed the reality TV star at the center of criticism. On Sunday, Jenner joined a host of celebrities to express support for Israel, amid the country’s war against Hamas. Unfortunately, rather than applaud the good-looking model for her thoughtful gesture, fans bashed Jenner, forcing her to delete the post. However, amid the backlash, Jewish Organizations have thrown support behind Kylie Jenner. According to them, she made the post from her heart and deserved to be praised not criticized.
Kylie Jenner Criticized for StandWithUs Post
On Sunday morning, Jenner found herself embroiled in controversy after she showed support for Israel. The business mogul took to her Instagram story with an image of Israel’s flag with the text overlay, “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel.” The photo Jenner reshared was from nonprofit organization, StandWithUs – a group that states that it supports Israel and opposes antisemitism. Unfortunately, while Jenner was on Israel’s side, many social media users supported Palestine. As a result, Kylie Jenner’s StandWithUs post sparked an uproar amongst fans who bashed the TV personality. Many of them posted the hashtag “free Palestine.” Due to the numerous criticisms, Jenner quickly deleted the post.
Jewish Organizations Applaud Jenner
While several social media users are against her, Jewish organizations have shown support for Kylie Jenner. During a chat with TMZ, Roz Rothstein, co-founder and CEO of StandWithUs addressed the criticism Jenner received. He noted that it was a shame that people couldn’t express themselves honestly because of pressure and intimidation by Hamas sympathizers. Richard Hirschhaut, the spokesman for the American Jewish Committee, also shared similar thoughts. He told TMZ that Jenner did the right thing and acted with her heart.
Hirschhaut then revealed that Jenner should be applauded for speaking up and speaking out. He further expressed his desire for the model to put the post back on her Instagram. According to the man, they desperately needed the power of social media and celebrity, now that Israel was at war under attack. Ultimately, Hirschhaut noted that this was the best time for celebrities to show followers who they were and what they stood for.
