Jimmy Kimmel is back at it, taking aim at his favorite late-night punching bag, none other than President Donald Trump. During his recent Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue, the comedian unleashed a new round of jokes about Trump’s fitness, dubbing him the “Pillsbury Dough President.” Kimmel also riffed on Trump’s recent remarks about bringing a “new focus on fitness” to the U.S. military, mocking the idea that Trump himself would be the messenger for physical wellness.
“Donald Trump actually said our new military will bring back new focus on fitness,” he quipped. “I love the idea that Trump is lecturing these guys on fitness. If that isn’t the fondue pot calling the kettle fat, I don’t know what is.” The late-night host didn’t stop there, telling his audience, “Listen up. I want to make something very clear. The Pillsbury Dough President wants you to do Pilates. The only pushups Donald Trump does are from the side of an ice cream truck. If you get so fat, you start breaking escalators, you are unfit to serve in America.”
The jab was a not-so-subtle reference to Trump’s infamous United Nations trip, where the escalator ride became the talk of the town after the President claimed it malfunctioned as part of a “triple sabotage.”
Jimmy Kimmel And Donald Trump’s Years-Long Feud
The roast marks just the latest chapter in the ongoing Kimmel–Trump saga. The two have been trading blows for years, with Kimmel routinely using his platform to lampoon Trump, and Trump firing back through Truth Social and his legal threats. Most recently, Trump attempted to have Kimmel canceled altogether.
In early September, Disney, ABC’s parent company, briefly suspended the late-night host after he joked that the “MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize” Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, “as anything other than one of them.” The comments sparked outrage from conservative groups and pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who threatened the network. ABC defended the decision by calling Kimmel’s remarks “ill-timed and insensitive,” but the suspension ignited backlash from fans, critics, and free-speech advocates who accused the government of censorship.
Kimmel returned to the air on September 23, but not before Trump weighed in with fury. Posting on Truth Social, Trump raged, “I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back.” The following day, Kimmel shot back during his monologue, “You can’t believe they gave me my job back? I can’t believe we gave you your job back.”
Donald Trump’s Lawsuit Threats
Trump escalated his threats, suggesting he would sue ABC for keeping Kimmel on the air, much like his previous lawsuit against the network that resulted in a settlement after comments from anchor George Stephanopoulos regarding E. Jean Carroll. “Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative,” Trump wrote.

Kimmel’s response? Classic mockery. “Only Donald Trump would try to prove he wasn’t threatening ABC by threatening ABC,” he quipped. “You almost have to feel sorry for the people who work for him, who try to clean up the messes.”
Between fat jokes, legal threats, the years-long feud that shows no signs of slowing down.
