Jon Bernthal is known for playing Frank Castle in the Netflix series The Punisher. He first appeared in Daredevil, which was also a Netflix Original series before they were channeled and later moved to Disney+. Recently, on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Jon Bernthal opened up in conversation, talking about what happened in Russia.
Jon Bernthal Talks About What Happened to Him in Russia
There were many things that Bernthal came to know during his time in Russia, like the kind of place it was and the rules you had to follow in the country. He discussed some of the harsh things he saw and how dark things could get. He talked about a horrible memory from his third day there.
While explaining what happened on The Joe Rogan Experience , he said he saw two men physically abuse a woman and how he couldn’t do anything to save her. “They take over to this building, and they start opening her head up against the side of this building. So I forgot where I was, and I ran at this guy and I grabbed him. In English, I am like ‘man, what the fuck are you doing? What are you doing?’, and he just pulled out a gun. He just put it right to my forehead, and he said in English, he’s like ‘go away!’ You know Joe, I knew in an instant that I was like a bug.”
Bernthal’s character is a deep and dark one, to say the least, he lost his family, and he is on the warpath to find their killers and put them down. In order to place this part, Bernthal has before expressed how he had to put his mind into a darker piece to play the marine who wasn’t scared of anything that is Frank Castle.
The Punisher can be streamed on Disney+, but for now, it is unknown if Jon Bernthal is returning to the Marvel franchise as Frank Castle anytime soon. With Daredevil: Born Again starting to film soon, we hope we will see an update on his character in the near future.
