The HBO Max biographical drama series Julia has added Rachel Bloom to the cast for Season 2. The series is based on the real-life Julia Child’s television show The French Chef. The first season debuted in March of 2022 and was renewed for a second season last May. Rachel Bloom will play Elaine Levitch in Season 2 of Julia. Levitch is said to be “a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on The French Chef“. Sarah Lancashire is the titular character in the HBO Max biographical drama series. David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, and Fiona Glascott star in it as well. Isabella Rossellini, Judith Light, Robert Joy, Erin Neufer, and Jefferson Mays guest starred in the series. Daniel Goldfarb created Julia and is an executive producer. Chris Keyser is an executive producer and showrunner of Julia.
“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” Launched Rachel Bloom Into Stardom
Rachel Bloom played the capricious character Rebecca Bunch on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Not only did Bloom star in The CW romantic comedy-drama musical series, but was a writer and an executive producer for the show. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend ran for four seasons and earned numerous Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. Rachel Bloom will star in the Steve Levitan Hulu comedy series Reboot, which will premiere on September 20. She’ll also play the “dynamo” Elaine Levitch on Season 2 of the HBO Max biographical drama series Julia. Bloom’s character Bunch on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend had many dramatic and humorous moments, which will likely spill over into her role as Levitch. Though there are no further details on her character in the HBO Max biographical drama series, just her presence in the series is worth watching. Watching Bloom in Julia for Season 2 is just one reason to check out the show.
There is no official date for the Season 2 premiere of the series Julia.
