Junji Ito Enters The Fog In Upcoming Dead by Daylight Crossover

A new level of fear

Behaviour Interactive hosted a live stream for Dead by Daylight earlier today, showcasing a ton of content. Towards the end of the stream was a segment dedicated to some of the upcoming content fans can expect from the asymmetrical horror game. This segment showcased what I believe to be the coolest collaboration to come to the game: Junji Ito. Players will be able to expect two Legendary skins and six Very Rare skins inspired by some of his incredible work.

Dead by Daylight | Doomed Course Livestream

The two Legendary skins are Miss Fuchi from the Soichi short stories and Tomie from the eponymous manga as the killers The Artist and The Spirit, respectively. The two are incredibly unique in having blood-curdling voice lines alongside their horrifying appearances. The other six Very Rare skins will be for a mixture of both Killers and Survivors, including The Trickster, The Dredge, The Twins, Yui Kimura, Yun-Jin Lee, and Kate Denson.

The specific characters that players can expect to be included when the collaboration launches on January 7 are:

  • Kuriko from The Bully (The Twins).
  • Soichi from Soichi’s Beloved Pet (The Trickster).
  • Terumi from The Hanging Balloons (Yun Jin).
  • Tsukiko from Tomie: Photo (Yui).
  • A Marionette from House of the Marionettes (Kate).
  • Ghosts from The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel (The Dredge).

Considering the fate of the latest adaptation of Uzumaki, one of Junji Ito’s prized works, it’s awesome that it’s getting a second chance this year in a video game collaboration. The skins look absolutely incredible, and I can’t wait actually to see them in action in January. Hopefully, this is an early sign that we can expect to see more of Junji Ito’s work in video games moving forward or, hopefully, an entire game based on it.
