From unfollowing the record producer on Instagram to mocking his engagement, Bieber has given Blanco several signs that he feels betrayed by his relationship with the actress. Now, he’s seemingly severed their friendship for good by shading Blanco’s music.
Is Justin Bieber Making Fun of Benny Blanco?
The latest drama between Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco began over the weekend when the pop star reposted a shady video on his Instagram Story. The clip features content creator Sven Johnson making fun of celebrities for how they discuss the creation of their hit singles. Since many often claim their biggest songs became a success by accident, Johnson mocked their nonchalant attitude in interviews by putting on a funny voice and saying things like, “I literally had no idea what I was doing,” and “I literally didn’t even try.”
The influencer could have been referencing any artist. However, fans are convinced Johnson was mimicking Blanco. Why? Well, it was all due to a specific anecdote he mentioned about Kesha. “On that song we were working with Kesha, she could only be in the studio for 13 seconds, so we recorded the entire song in 13 seconds,” Johnson said.
The Signs Are There
Benny Blanco said something similar back in March. During an interview with Daniel Wall, the record producer discussed making Kesha’s hit single “We R Who We R.” He said he only had so much time to complete the track. After realizing Kesha never recorded a bridge, Blanco was forced to improvise to turn in the song by the deadline. Since he had no more vocals from the singer, Blanco decided to reuse lyrics from one of her verses for the bridge. In the end, it became the most iconic part of the song. “Isn’t that crazy?” Blanco said after telling the story.
Blanco also told Wall similar wild anecdotes about creating “Moves Like Jagger” with Maroon 5 and “Dynamite” with Taio Cruz. Because of this, fans think Justin Bieber’s Instagram repost had to have been aimed at Blanco.
Fans Claim the Singer Is Still “Obsessed” With Selena Gomez
They understand that Bieber probably feels angry about Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s relationship. However, they feel he should have moved on at this point since he’s not only a married man, but a father. “Why is he still not over Selena?” one person asked. “Imagine being a father of a child and still being obsessed with your ex,” a second fan said. “That man needs serious help,” another commented.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez dated on and off for nearly a decade. After saying goodbye to each other for good in March 2018, the singer got engaged to Hailey Bieber that July. The pair then got married that September. Despite their breakup, Bieber and Gomez continued referencing each other throughout their music for years. The actress and Bieber’s wife were also rumored to have fought online a few times.
Fans hoped the drama would die down once Gomez got engaged to Blanco in December 2024, but it didn’t. Bieber was accused of making fun of the couple’s engagement with a Gollum meme. Now, it seems he’s taking shots at Blanco’s music career.
Clearly, Justin Bieber doesn’t like the idea of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco together.
