Justin Bieber‘s paparazzi encounters are always so intense. On Friday, April 25, the singer shared a video on Instagram showing a swarm of photographers surrounding his vehicle. Although multiple bodyguards tried to clear a space for him so he could open his door, the paparazzi continued inching closer. Since this isn’t the first time they’ve done this, Bieber shared the clip on social media in hopes of getting the paparazzi to finally give him some space. “This has to stop,” he said.
The Justin Bieber Paparazzi Drama Heats Up
Justin Bieber’s video began with him walking down a dark pathway while making his way toward his car. A few members of his team could be heard telling nearby paparazzi to back up so that he could safely get through the crowd. Once Bieber got close, the men started relentlessly clicking away at their cameras, surrounding him with blinding flashes of light.
Bieber’s bodyguards instinctively stood in front of him to try and prevent the paparazzi from getting his picture. However, the photographers refused to back down. They darted around the sidewalk to get better angles of Bieber as he walked down the street. Just before entering his vehicle, Bieber paused and moved his camera in a circle to capture just how many members of the paparazzi were surrounding him. “Look at these guys,” he said.
After Justin Bieber continued to film instead of leaving the scene, the paparazzi stopped in their tracks as well. They appeared uncomfortable with the fact that they were caught on camera. “You guys done?” someone asked the paparazzi, before calling them “ridiculous” for following Bieber around. Most of the men remained frozen while holding their cameras in front of the singer. However, one photographer appeared to get intimated by Bieber’s behavior since he began gradually retreating.
The Internet Is On His Side
The disturbing video has amassed nearly 20 million views on Instagram. Fans think Bieber had every right to react the way he did since he’s been followed by the paparazzi for most of his life. “Leave this poor guy alone,” one person said. “Can’t believe this is legal,” another wrote. “This is terrible,” read another comment.
Many fans raised concerns for Justin Bieber’s safety. Since he could easily get hurt from the paparazzi chasing him, they hoped a law could be passed to make it illegal for photographers to get so close to celebrities. They’re surprised one hasn’t been made already, especially after what happened with Princess Diana. The beloved royal died in 1997 due to injuries sustained in a car crash after being chased by photographers.
Justin Bieber’s latest run-in with the paparazzi comes just weeks after he also confronted them in Palm Springs. During the incidents, the singer accused photographers of not treating him like a human being and instead viewing him as nothing more than a way to make money.
