Justin Timberlake is in some very hot water right now. Recently, the singer was arrested for a DWI, and people are not happy. One of the groups that are taking action is Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The group is urging Timberlake to take accountability for his actions. They also stated that he has the opportunity to save lives if he is willing to bite the bullet. Will JT use his platform to condemn drunk driving?
Per TMZ, MADD CEO Stacey D. Stewart stated that Timberlake is extremely lucky that his night out didn’t end horribly for himself or somebody else. Stewart continues by begging Timberlake to use his platform to campaign against drunk driving.
Mother Against Drunk Driving Is Doubling Down on Justin Timberlake
Although, if that happens at all, it won’t be for a long time. Justin Timberlake has to settle the case first. His lawyers are ready to fight tooth and nail. Timberlake was cuffed and booked after rolling through a stop sign.
However, the Police also claimed that the artist had bloodshot eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, and a failed sobriety test. While Timberlake has been quiet about the situation so far, Stewart will be very upset if he gets let off easy. Mothers Against Drunk Driving says that JT’s fame gives him an incredible opportunity to make a real change.
However, this is Justin’s first offense, so more than likely, he will be trying to get a plea deal. Although, MADD does not want that. Though, it is expected due to the fact JT is a first-timer. It also helps that Timberlake is a very famous man with powerful friends and a lot of money.
The bottom line is that Mother Against Drunk Driving just really hopes that Justin Timberlake will send the correct message here. After this is said and done, JT needs to use his platform to urge others not to make the same mistake. However, he doesn’t have a great track record of making the right choices.
