Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know this year’s music and animation sensation is K-Pop Demon Hunters. Besides crushing viewership counts, it’s also crushing the patience of some people. Despite its success, some citizens think the band from K-Pop Demon Hunters has overstayed its welcome, which is what happened in a neighborhood in Bakersfield, California. One neighbor decided to decorate their home with the usual blinding Christmas lights, but also decided to put the song Golden on repeat every half an hour, sending some people around the block in pop-induced rage.
In the clip above, shared by a citizen who likely lives near the musical house, you can see how this neighbor in Bakersfield chose to feature K-Pop Demon Hunters as a key part of the decoration. According to the OP, this house repeats the song “Golden” every 30 minutes from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM every single day. As the video shows, passersby clearly enjoy the music and light show. Decorating a house like this and syncing it to a song is impressive. But for the neighbors, it’s a very different story.
The person who shared the video claims everyone is starting to hate the musical show, and we don’t blame them. Hearing the same song repeatedly can break someone’s patience, and despite how good Golden might be for some people, even the best song can become tedious if you listen to it every 30 minutes.
While many people love K-Pop Demon Hunters, others were on the victims’ side, as they also think this is too much for some holiday decorations.
“I’m surprised HOA approved this,” said Lissette.
“Minus the audio, it could definitely be charged for disturbing the peace. Otherwise, it’s their electric bill,” commented Fred Smith.
In the end, everyone’s free to decorate their home however they want. Still, that doesn’t mean some decorations are neighborhood-friendly, and here’s the perfect exhibit of some that are annoying neighbors in more than one way. Also, as one X user mentioned, it’s surprising to see that the HOA was okay with this, assuming a HOA board has its claws on this block. If not, well, it is a free-for-all, but we’d just hope this homeowner would space out the song or just play it once or twice a day.
