Kamala Harris has broken her silence regarding Taylor Swift‘s presidential endorsement. After the singer revealed earlier this month that she would be voting blue in this year’s presidential election, Harris shared her reaction to Swift’s support in a new interview with WIRED. As a fan of the pop star herself, Harris revealed she was honored to have Swift’s stamp of approval. Since celebrities are often criticized for sharing their politics, Harris also praised Swift for having the courage to speak out.

While taking part in WIRED’s autocomplete interview video series, Kamala Harris took a moment to address Taylor Swift’s presidential endorsement. “I’m very proud to have the support of Taylor Swift,” she said. “She’s an incredible artist.”
Harris continued by applauding Swift for always using her platform to raise awareness about important issues, such as politics. “I really respect the courage that she has had in her career to stand up for what she believes is right,” Harris said.
Although Kamala Harris and Taylor Swift are both on the same side when it comes to politics, they don’t see eye to eye when it comes to football. “We were on different sides of the Super Bowl last year,” Harris joked. “I am a 49ers fan, but who’s mad at anyone for being loyal to their team, right?“
Harris referenced Swift’s decision to support the Kansas City Chiefs after she started dating the team’s tight end, Travis Kelce, last year.
Her comments about the singer come over a week after Swift publicly endorsed Harris and her running mate Tim Walz on social media following the presidential debate on Sept. 10.
